Job description

Job Title: Vice President – Sales
Location: Plano, Texas
Full-Time | Individual Contributor (Hunter Role)

About Startech Networks:
Startech Networks Inc. is a wireless and communications engineering services provider headquartered in Plano, Texas, with operations across all U.S. states and territories as well as Canada. Part of an international group with presence across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, Startech partners with nationwide telecom operators, hyperscalers, and leading Tier 1 OEMs.

The Opportunity:
Startech is seeking a Vice President – Sales to drive new business growth in the data center and fiber engineering services market. This is a pure new-logo, hunting role: your mission is to open doors, win new clients, and convert relationships into large-scale, multi-year engagements.

You will sell:
  • Data Center Engineering Services – structured cabling, rack and stack, rack installation and de- installation, and break-fix solutions for enterprise data center clients.
  • Fiber Engineering Services – OSP fiber survey and design work supporting FTTx, 5G, and broadband expansion programs.

Who Thrives in This Role:
This role is built for a specific kind of professional. You will thrive here if you are:
  • Entrepreneurial by nature – you treat the territory like your own business. Prior experience founding or running a business is a strong plus.
  • A hunter, not a farmer – you are energized by opening new doors, landing new logos, and building a pipeline from scratch.
  • Hungry to grow – professionally and financially. You want your income tied to your results, and you back yourself to deliver.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity – you can operate in a lean, fast-moving mid-size firm where you wear multiple hats, make decisions quickly, and build as you go — without the layers, budgets, and support structures of a large corporation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • New logo acquisition — identify, pursue, and close new enterprise clients for data center and fiber engineering services.
  • Develop and own executive-level (C-suite and VP) client relationships.
  • Lead complex, consultative sales pursuits from first contact through contract signature.
  • Structure and secure large-scale, multi-year outsourcing agreements.
  • Partner closely with operations, delivery teams, and subject matter experts to shape solutions that meet clients' operational and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain an accurate pipeline with clear forecasting and accountability for results.

Compensation & Earning Potential:
Compensation is a base salary plus an aggressive bonus/commission structure designed to reward results. For a high performer, total earnings can be substantial and are directly driven by the business you bring in — the more clients you win, the more you earn.

Base salary is fair and equitable, determined in part by education level and years of relevant experience. Please note there are no stock options; the company is closely held, private, and intends to remain so — the earning opportunity in this role comes through performance-based compensation.

Benefits include:
  • Medical, dental, vision care, and wellness programs.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.

Minimum Qualifying Criteria:
  • Engineering degree in Telecom, Electrical, Electronics, or a related field (diploma holders will not be suited for this role).
  • MBA or a postgraduate technical degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry and sales experience in the USA.
  • Demonstrated track record of new client acquisition and revenue growth in data center, fiber, or telecom engineering services.
  • Experience succeeding in small to mid-size firms is strongly preferred; current or past experience as an entrepreneur is an added advantage.

Please note: Due to non-poaching agreements with our clients, candidates currently employed by hyperscalers, nationwide telecom operators, or data & communication service providers cannot be considered.
