We take pride in being our customers’ trusted lighting experts, and so will you.   Lighting Sales Representative   As our new Lighting Sales Representative, you will be taking on an exciting and multifaceted role. You will be developing new business opportunities within your local geographic area with – contractors, electricians, and interior designers. Most of your time will be spent using your prospecting and strategic sales skills to proactively target new accounts, and you’ll meet customers in their offices or on project sites.     You’ll excel here by using your exceptional communication skills to interact with multiple customers daily. You’ll review lighting schedules or design plans with them and listen to their needs, reading between the lines to get the full picture. You’ll determine what products they need, provide expert advice and pricing in a timely manner. You have incredible people skills, and you’ll quickly develop long-term, trusting relationships with them. You do what it takes to get the job done, whether that’s working after hours, or delivering that must-have lighting fixture to your customer’s doorstep to make their day.     If you have a growth mindset, then you’ll make a real impact here as you develop your business through regular sales calls and community outreach.    Working at Starlight Lighting   Starlight offers everything you need to excel as a Lighting Sales Representative:   * Year 1 income is expected at $30K-$60K, year 2 - $45K-$80K, * Performance driven commission rate of 5% of gross profit dollars on each sale   * Uncapped monthly commissions * Protected territory to develop * Training and personal support from Starlight employees and management * Work-life balance – you determine your work schedule * An extensive and growing product line Qualifications   * 1 to 2 years customer service or sales experience * Proven results and consistency in achieving/exceeding sales targets * Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to quickly develop business relationships * Possess strong organizational and project management skills * Self-motivation to drive results * Experience in interior design, home décor, furniture sales, retail sales, working at a lighting retailer, or technical knowledge of lighting solutions would be a major asset * Experience reading/interpreting architectural plans would be a major asset * Ability to work with Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365 * Valid drivers license and reliable transportation * Ability to lift up-to 30 lbs   Responsibilities   * Acquire new business accounts in your specified territory, including cold-calling, referrals and B2B networking; scheduling and conducting client introductions and face-to-face prospecting * A “hunter” mentality with the confidence to prospect face-to-face * Develop sales strategies and maintain high levels of activity * Ability to effectively turnaround objections and work around business obstacles * Ability to effectively influence and negotiate pricing * Provide weekly status updates on accounts in pipeline, maintain record of activities * Sell the benefits of working with Starlight and personalized attention * Build a customer base, through personal representation * Provide conflict resolution during a sale * Maintain sufficient customer records to ensure proper account administration * Represent Starlight professionally and enthusiastically to external customers   Extensive experience is not a requirement, you’ll excel in this position if you have:   * Some interior decorating/design, lighting or electrical knowledge is a benefit – perhaps you’ve got some technical experience with lighting solutions, or you’ve worked for a home furnishings/lighting retailer before. * Drive - more importantly, you have a passion to learn about our products to be able to best serve your customers; you’re eager to learn, and you’re coachable.  * Detail-orientation – you take pride in the quality of your work and hold yourself to a high standard; you strive to provide the right solutions to customers, minimizing their stress as you do. * Organization – you can easily handle multiple clients and multiple jobs at once, and never let things slip through the cracks for them.   How to Apply Please apply online through the Fitzii platform.  We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.
