Full-Time Physician - Hospitalist (Nights)
Aultman Hospital - Canton, Ohio
Position Overview:
Nocturnist Physician to join our overnight care team. Working as part of a two-physician nocturnist team, this role focuses on admitting patients, consulting on cases, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care during nighttime hours. Nocturnists play a key role in supporting the hospital's overnight operations while collaborating with emergency department physicians, nurse practitioners, utilization management, and bedside clinical staff to provide exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Admit and provide consultative services for hospitalized patients, ensuring timely and accurate assessments.
  • Take transfer calls and efficiently triage appropriateness for transfer as well as coordinate the appropriate level of care.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Complete thorough documentation and accurate CPT coding/billing on the date of service to maintain revenue cycle integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with the emergency department, AIM CNPs, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth patient transitions and continuity of care.
  • Assist with cross-coverage for inpatients in collaboration with AIM nurse practitioners, providing clinical support and answering questions as needed.
  • Respond to rapid responses, working as a team with bedside staff to provide timely and effective care.
  • Closed ICU - no procedures required.

Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree
  • Ohio State Medical Licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • Current Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Current BLS / ACLS Certificate (or ability to obtain)
