3:00pm-11:00pm/Monday-Wednesday; 4:00pm-12:00am/Thursday & 8:00am-4:00pm/Friday. Subject to change as needed.
Staples is focused on our customer and our community. As a Loss Prevention Associate for Staples you will implement and support Loss Prevention Programs within our Retail Distribution Center. These programs include managing employee and visitor foot traffic into and out of the building, monitoring the employee parking lot for suspicious activity, daily monitoring of CCTV, burglar and access control systems, interior and exterior perimeter checks, safety, shrink, and reporting-related mitigation functions within the warehouse environment, and other Loss Prevention duties as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Monitor CCTV, Burglar and Access control systems to ensure they function appropriately and respond to incidents as needed
  • Oversee associate Safety programs and behaviors, and provide administrative support related to Worker's Compensation Claims
  • Assist and support department audits, inspections and incident investigations as directed
  • Communicate all potential workplace security issues to DC Ops Manager and DC Loss Prevention Manager
  • Mitigate internal theft by conducting checks of bags, containers, and other personal items, and use stationary and handheld metal detectors to screen associates and visitors exiting the facility
  • Monitor entrance and front lobby to ensure all visitors are authorized, logged in, and escorted
  • Monitor parking lot areas and report unauthorized visitors/vehicles, or unlawful activity, to leadership
  • Perform multiple daily safety related walks around the interior and exterior warehouse perimeter, to include multi-level work areas, such as Break Pack and Quality Control modules.
  • Assist and support leadership team with safety, emergency crisis and evacuation drills and real events

Personal and Technical Responsibilities:
  • Use of handheld metal detectors, Aiphone-type video and audio door security and access unit
  • Facility badge access control system and software
  • Multi-line telephone switchboard with PA feature
  • Document and photo ID printers; copier; calculator; writing instruments; personal computer; cameras; and other office equipment and machines
  • While performing duties of the job, you may operate warehouse equipment such as conveyors, hand trucks, manual pallet jacks, scissor lifts and, if certified, operate other motorized units

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Flexible work schedule to include afternoon, evenings, and some weekends/holidays and overtime as needed
  • High school degree or GED, or equivalent experience
  • While performing duties of this job, employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Loss Prevention, safety, and security experience
  • LP certification and OSHA certification
