Job description

Job Description This position involves assisting individuals and their families with attaining and maintaining self-sufficiency and improving quality of life. In-home Aide Services include essential home management tasks to maintain individuals in their homes as long as possible. This position also provides transportation to clients as assigned.

The Aide works under the supervision of a social worker who develops the service plan for the individual and monitors the aide's competency. The Aide must follow the plan and perform tasks in the time frame given. A task list is completed by the Aide and signed by the client to document the services provided to the individual or family.

Starting pay is 28,873 or DOQ Examples of Job Duties These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Provides environmental care tasks such as housekeeping and home management to individuals who are self-directing, medically stable, and have at least one instrumental activity of daily living impairment. Performs basic environmental and home management tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning bathroom and kitchen, changing linens, making beds, laundry, simple meal preparation, and bill paying

Completes required reports regarding tasks performed for clients per In-home Aide standards. Reports important changes observed in the family or individual served. Addresses situations when able or seeks guidance and advice from supervisor whenever in doubt.

Attends training sessions and meetings as scheduled. Qualifications A high school degree is preferred. The position must be able to follow instructions and communicate observations to the supervisor.

It must also be able to relate to the clientele served, follow written and verbal directions, and perform required physical tasks. Must have a valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation. All applicants tentatively selected for this position must submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use, a criminal records check will be conducted, and a driver's license check will be completed.
