Stakeholder Manager information

What is a stakeholder manager?

Stakeholder managers are professionals responsible for identifying, engaging, and maintaining positive relationships with individuals or groups who have an interest in or are affected by a project, organization, or business initiative. Their main role is to ensure that stakeholders’ needs, expectations, and concerns are understood and addressed throughout the project lifecycle. This often involves regular communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Stakeholder managers play a key role in the success of projects by fostering trust and cooperation among all parties involved.

How does a stakeholder manager typically balance the differing priorities of multiple stakeholders in a project?

A Stakeholder Manager is often tasked with navigating the diverse interests and expectations of various internal and external parties. This involves proactive communication, regular stakeholder analysis, and prioritization based on project objectives and organizational goals. Successful Stakeholder Managers use negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to find common ground and ensure that all voices are heard while keeping the project on track. They also document agreements and maintain transparency to build trust and foster long-term relationships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a stakeholder manager, and why are they important?

To excel as a Stakeholder Manager, you need strong relationship management, project management expertise, and a background in business or communications, often supported by a relevant degree. Proficiency with CRM systems, stakeholder mapping tools, and project management software like Microsoft Project or Asana is common. Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and persuasive communication set top performers apart in this role. These capabilities are vital for building trust, aligning interests, and ensuring project success through effective stakeholder engagement.

Job description

Overview

At KPMG in Canada, our people bring their unique perspectives to Canada’s most important challenges. Here, you can build momentum that reaches beyond our business, develop skills for the future, and take ownership of your career with support at every stage. Join a firm where your career can make a difference.

As a Manager in SAP Procurement Public Cloud, you will lead the P2P workstream on SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud transformations, guiding future-state design, fit-to-standard adoption, and delivery governance. You will manage cross-functional dependencies (AP, Inventory/MM, Finance, data, integrations) and provide stakeholder leadership through go-live and stabilization.

What you will do
  • Lead Procurement/P2P workstream execution from design through deployment and post-go-live stabilization; own scope, plan, RAID, and delivery quality.
  • Facilitate client workshops to define future-state Source-to-Pay/Procure-to-Pay processes and drive fit-to-standard decisions and process standardization.
  • Oversee end-to-end solution design and configuration approach in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (CBC/SSCUI) and govern core deliverables (solution designs, configuration rationale, test artifacts, cutover plans, readiness materials, training support).
  • Partner with data and integration teams to plan interfaces and validate migration readiness; manage dependencies and risks across the program.
  • Lead integrated testing strategy and execution oversight across SIT/UAT – leveraging test automation where applicable – and ensure timely defect resolution and business sign-off.
  • Coordinate cutover and go-live readiness, training support, and early-life stabilization/hypercare activities.
  • Coach and develop team members; contribute to proposals, estimations, and practice development initiatives.
  • Stay current on SAP Public Cloud quarterly releases and innovations; guide impact assessments and adoption planning.

What you bring to the role
  • 8+ years of SAP Procurement/P2P experience with leadership on at least three full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA program Public Cloud.
  • Proven ability to lead workshops, drive fit-to-standard outcomes, and guide standard vs extension decisions aligned to clean-core principles.
  • Strong governance experience across planning, RAID management, dependency management, and quality assurance of delivery assets.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and change leadership skills; ability to influence and resolve escalations.
  • Experience leading testing, cutover, and go-live readiness for complex transformations.
  • Proficiency with SAP Activate delivery approach and tools (e.g., Cloud ALM) and SAP Public Cloud configuration approaches (CBC/SSCUI).
