About the Role

We're looking for an Ironworker that will be responsible for erecting and assembling structural and miscellaneous steel for buildings, bridges, pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), and other construction projects. This role works side-by-side with skilled tradespeople and the project foreman to interpret blueprints, handle heavy materials, and ensure every piece is placed with precision. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality.


Core Responsibilities

  • Structural Steel Assembly
    • Safely install, align, and secure steel beams, columns, and girders according to project specifications and blueprints.
    • Assemble and connect structural and miscellaneous steel components for a variety of projects.
    • Ensure accuracy and precision during installation to meet engineering and safety standards.


  • Rigging Equipment and Operation
    • Operate cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to lift and position steel materials.
    • Use rigging gear, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
    • Assist in welding, cutting, and bolting steel components as needed.


  • Safety and Compliance
    • Follow all company and industry safety protocols, including fall protection and hazard identification.
    • Maintain situational awareness to identify and address unsafe conditions immediately.
    • Participate in required safety training and comply with OSHA standards.


  • Tools and Equipment Care
    • Inspect tools, rigging, and welding equipment regularly.
    • Maintain all tools and machinery in safe, working conditions.
    • Report any equipment issues promptly to supervisors.


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an Ironworker Apprenticeship Program or equivalent vocational training.
  • 5 or more years of ironworking or related construction experience, with strong background in structural steel erection.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, rigging tools, and welding apparatus.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including working at heights and handling heavy materials.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites in the Gulf Coast, Nashville, and Huntsville regions.
  • Eligible for a TWIC card.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check and remain compliant with random testing requirements.
  • Welding ability with certifications preferred.
  • Certifications such as NCCER, OSHA 10, or OSHA 30.
  • Experience working with PEMB installation.
  • Knowledge of advanced rigging and safety technologies.
