FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Type: Hourly / bi-weekly

Pay Range: $20 - $24 Per hour

This is an in-person role based at our Torrance, CA warehouse, with opportunities to work onsite at project locations. When not assigned to an onsite project, employees are expected to report to the Torrance warehouse. Remote work is not available.

Summary

The Project Manager Assistant is responsible for working closely with Lead Project Managers, Technical Design personnel, Fabrication Shop staff, Sales associates, and Rental Leads to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner while remaining within budget. Project Manager Assistants are also key members of the Fabrication team and responsible for final assembly, testing, and packaging of all projects assigned to them. An understanding of fabrication techniques and hand tools is a must. This role can potentially include onsite time with clients and artists, leading crew and delivering projects.

This is a non-exempt hourly position that includes eligibility for PTO, health insurance, and participation in the 401(k) program following the applicable probationary period.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate in accordance with established standard operating and safety procedures
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments to complete projects in a timely and high-quality manner
  • Support the creation of high-quality Versa gear that represents the company well in the global staging market
  • Review, interpret, and utilize Technical Design documents in the construction of staging and equipment
  • Complete all assigned crew training modules
  • Perform final assembly, testing, and packaging of custom fabrication projects
  • Work within established project timelines and budgets
  • Provide regular project status updates to the Fabrication Supervisor and Project Manager
  • Coordinate information between departments to keep projects on track
  • Maintain and create accurate project documentation
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and vendors
  • Order and receive project hardware and components from vendors
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment
  • Assist other Project Managers as needed in assembly, testing, and cleanup

Qualification Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in project, production, or fabrication environments
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field with relevant experience may be considered in lieu of direct experience
  • Background in fabrication and knowledge of machining, welding, and carpentry preferred
  • Knowledge or experience with touring, staging, rigging, or production setup preferred
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with budget management, planning, and Gantt chart software
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within strict timelines and established budgets
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Professional appearance and conduct
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as business needs require
  • English proficiency preferred; bilingual skills are a plus
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are required
