The Senior Quality Engineer will take a role in ensuring all products and processes meet stringent quality standards. This highly experienced position involves advanced problem-solving, strategic planning, and overseeing quality improvement initiatives.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in program reviews and risk assessments to identify potential quality issues early
  • Provide quality input during program planning, design reviews, and stage-gate processes.
  • Coordinate quality activities and resources to support program milestones and deliverables.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and quality team members.
  • Lead strategic quality initiatives and projects to enhance product quality.
  • Solve complex quality issues using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
  • Identify and implement quality improvement opportunities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all processes.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ Years experience as a Quality Engineer or in a related field.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in Aviation industry
  • Considerable knowledge of Quality System requirements and contract quality requirements.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing and inspection.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 standards.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in Aviation industry
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Requirement to be on feet for a significant portion of the work shift.
  • Majority of work hours spent on a computer.
  • Hand/finger dexterity for using testing and inspection tools.
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required for audits and supplier visits.
