Collins isย seekingย a highly motivated and experiencedย Structural Project Engineerย to play a key role on our team in ourย Salt Lake City,ย Utah,ย office. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design for bridges and construction engineering along with a solid background in the field of structural engineering and can bring creative design skills to the team. This position requires the ability to manage projects, liaise with clients and government agencies, and perform both structural inspections and design. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:ย 

  • Reviews, analyzes, and resolves field and/or design issues.ย 

  • Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.ย 

  • Prepares complete engineering plans or reports.ย 

  • Demonstrates strongย proficiencyย in computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.ย 

  • Makes design recommendations and/or adaptations.ย 

  • Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.ย 

  • Manages engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or officeย in accordance withย plans and specifications.ย 

  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.ย 

  • Assistsย in coordinating project schedules to ensureย timelyย completion.ย 

  • Assistsย in proposal preparation, project scoping, and estimating project costs.ย 

  • Directsย and supervises the work of engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.ย 

  • Ensures that staffย requiringย specialized health and safety training receive suchย trainingย and that safety is emphasized as an integral part of their work.ย 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.ย

Education and/or Experience:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree and/or masterโ€™s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.ย 

  • Minimum 4 years or more experience in project engineering.ย 

  • Experience in the inspection and/or design of various structures, including but not limitedย to,ย bridges, roadways, and railroads. Experience with construction engineering such as demo plans and staging plans.ย 

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certificationย required.ย 

  • Valid driverโ€™s license.ย
