Job description

The Sporting Event Crew Member (Part Time) plays a key role in creating unique experiences on IMG Academy campus for student-athletes, families, tournament participants, visiting professional teams, and guests. This position aids with event setups, game day execution, and event breakdown to ensure IMG Academy delivers a seamless, world class experience for all participants and attendees. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in various guest service and operational areas related to events and game-day-operations for IMG Academy
  • Support overall stadium operations during sporting events, including but not limited toevent setup, ticket sales, ingress control, parking assistance, giveaway distribution, cleaning support, mobility/transportation, and customer service
  • Fill various game day roles during sporting events, including but not limited to official stat keeper, home or visiting team liaison, video/production assistant, or check-in for officials 
  • Provide support for sports teams, coaches, guests, officials, and other IMG Academy staff to ensure smooth experience
  • Participate in event set up and breakdown to provide all necessary resources for a successful event execution
  • Support the execution of non-sporting events like boarding school student check-in, sporting gear distribution, summer camp related activities, graduation, and employee celebration events
  • Other duties as assigned by management 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experience or interest in working in events, facilities or sport managementis preferred
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates a positive and team-oriented attitude
  • Comfortable working with diverse individuals and personalities  
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, etc.) 

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual  

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift, carry, move, push and pull equipment or boxes up to 50lbs 
  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
  • Ability to work on various indoor and outdoor surfaces including grass, turf, courts, etc. in all weather
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill event tasks
  • Must be able to operate office equipment such as computers
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
