Join Our Team: Arena Operations Team Lead
Full-Time | Hourly
Department: Arena Operations
The Classic Center - Athens, GA
We're looking for an Operations Team Lead to join our team and play a key role in keeping our venue event-ready, safe, and running smoothly. From transforming spaces and directing event setups to supporting staff and maintaining facility standards, you'll be at the center of what makes every event a success.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of leadership, physical work, and variety. No two days are exactly the same.
What You'll Do
As an Operations Team Lead, you'll work closely with Operations Management to oversee daily building operations, event conversions, facility readiness, and team performance.
Key responsibilities include:
    • Lead and supervise Operations staff during assigned shifts
    • Ensure team members have the tools, information, and support needed to execute operational plans
    • Coordinate and participate in event setups and strikes, including:
    • Ice cover installation and removal
    • Dasher boards and hockey glass
    • Staging
    • Tables and chairs
    • Venue conversions and special event setups
    • Maintain high standards for facility readiness, cleanliness, and safety
    • Train employees on operational procedures, equipment use, policies, and best practices
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for hourly staff and third-party personnel during events and shifts
    • Monitor inventory levels of equipment, parts, hardware, and operational supplies
    • Assist with annual equipment inventories
    • Support management with various operational projects and assignments

What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
    • At least one year of experience in a similar role within an arena, convention center, stadium, theater, or comparable venue preferred
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed
    • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to obtain a forklift certification
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license
    • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
    • A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed

Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role that requires:
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting and moving of items up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and other physical activities associated with facility operations and event setups
  • Ability to work safely in a dynamic event environment

The candidate who is selected for this position will have to successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check.
