Job description

This position reports to the Press Work Center Manager/Press Supervisor

Job Summary:

Learn and perform tasks associated with hand transfer tools. Perform press helper duties as assigned. Perform rework activities as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to operate hand transfer press and perform tasks associated with them.
  • Assist the Press Operator by performing any task necessary to keep the press running quality parts.
  • Catch parts and stack them in totes or boxes while visually inspecting the parts for any type of defects.
  • Clean the press and press area any time the press is not running
  • Run secondary presses or operations quickly and safely.
  • Must be able to learn how to read micrometers and calipers.
  • Must be able to understand and use any type of gage supplied to maintain the quality of the parts produced.
  • Learn and perform all functions in relation to current QAD inventory system.
  • Perform Quality checks correctly and at proper times required.
  • Requires lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Prior press experience preferred but not required.

Required Safety Equipment:

  • Cut resistance gloves
  • Safety Glasses
  • Cut resistance sleeves (worn to elbow)
  • Earplugs or Muffs
  • Metatarsal Steel Toe shoes

Educational Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Training Required:

  • Must be willing to complete Press Classes
  • Must be willing to complete Overhead Crane training.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts (up to 7 days a week.)
  • Must be able to stand 10 - 12-hour shifts daily.
  • Must have physical dexterity
