Job description

POSITION:Load Former

LOCATION: Conyers, Millugator

SHIFT: 3rd shift

BASE PAY: $18.00/hr

JOB SUMMARY:

The Load Former is a piece of equipment set up by the Stacker Operator to ensure finished bundles of corrugated sheets are stacked accurately and uniformly for the unitizer. The operator sets the bundler and delivery end according to the production run.

  • Follow all company safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read production sheets
  • Quickly identify a quality defect and communicate immediately to machine operators.
  • Quality checks using micrometer, tape measure, etc.
  • Able to read a tape measure up to 1/16" variance
  • All units have an accurate load tag and the appearance meets plant's requirements
  • Basic Computer Skills (Data Entry)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, & multiply
  • Able to work extended work hours and weekends, as needed
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work in varying temperatures
  • Professional Attitude & conduct
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Pass background check, drug screen, and physical

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

  1. Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  2. 6 months' experience as a Bundler.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications
  • Product quality specifications
  • Quality standards

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by his/her job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
