A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL STACK TESTING FIELD TECHNICIAN
As an Environmental Stack Testing Field Technician, you are the backbone of our business. Your hard work ensures that we deliver for our clients. Under the supervision of our Field Operations Manager, you conduct stack emissions testing activities (bag houses, furnace stacks, industrial flares, etc.), calibrate equipment and maintain the mobile lab trailer from job site to job site. You operate and troubleshoot complex electronic and stack gas conveyance systems to maintain compliance for our clients. You ensure that appropriate health and safety procedures are being followed and conduct shop duties, as necessary.
Your mechanical skills are essential as you engage different manufacturing and commercial job sites with varying stack configurations. Your ability to travel is a must, as we go where our clients are located, and being comfortable working at heights (all safety precautions and safety equipment are utilized).
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STACK TESTING FIELD TECHNICIAN
  • One to Four years stack testing experience conducting EPA methods 1 through 5 (Willing to train the right candidate!)
  • CEMS experience is helpful, but not required
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science helpful, but not required
  • Must be able to comfortably work at heights (with proper training and safety protocols)
  • Must have the ability to travel
  • Must possess valid driver's license and driving record free of major violations over past five years (e.g. ability to be insured for company-vehicle and tow trailer)
  • Self-starter, quick learner, and possess effective communication skills
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to operate high-lifts, climb scaffolding and lift 50 - 70 pounds
