JOB SUMMARYSeeking an upbeat and hardworking Principal Full Stack Engineer to define the future by modernizing and building innovative cloud-native experiences, capabilities, and platforms. This role involves leading the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications across the entire technology stack, requiring deep expertise in modern web technologies, AWS cloud architecture, and leadership in driving technical excellence. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer capable of architecting solutions, mentoring team members, and ensuring best practices in software development for millions of customers seeking products that provide guaranteed income and/or protection.
Key Responsibilities• Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end solutions across front-end, back-end, and cloud infrastructure.
• Architect and optimize AWS-based cloud environments, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code using modern frameworks and languages (React, Angular, Node.js, Java, Python, etc.).
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver robust and user-friendly applications.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, promoting best practices in coding, testing, and architecture.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and implement monitoring and observability solutions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to architecture and processes.
• Engage effectively at team and group levels, with a desire to learn and impact outside primary tasking.
• Communicate optimally with both technical and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in full stack development, with at least 3 years in a senior or principal role.
• Strong proficiency in front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Strong proficiency in back-end technologies (Node.js, Java, Python).
• Expertise in AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFormation).
• Experience working with relational database technologies (Postgres / Oracle).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications• Knowledge of mock frameworks and service virtualization.
• Experience in designing, implementing, or maintaining systems that support Term Life Insurance operations such as policy administration, underwriting and claims processing is a plus.
