Remote work is authorized under this contract; however, at CBO's discretion, contractor employees may be required to work on-site at CBO facilities without reimbursement for related travel or expenses.

Position Summary: The Full Stack Software Developer (SMA 2 - Cloud Service Support) designs, develops, tests, and maintains CBO's web applications and supporting backend services, delivering production-ready software continuously through iterative sprint cycles. Works across the full stack - Python/FastAPI back end, ReactJS front end, PostgreSQL, and Docker containers deployed to AWS - within CBO's trunk-based development workflow, with peer-reviewed code that meets style/linting standards and introduces no known security vulnerabilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy features across ReactJS front end and Python/Fast API back end.
  • Build/maintain RESTful APIs (FastAPI) with validation, error handling, versioning, and Open API/Swagger documentation.
  • Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces (ReactJS) meeting CBO UX standards and Section 508 accessibility.
  • Implement/manage PostgreSQL data models, queries, migrations, and stored procedures with performance and integrity in mind.
  • Operate within trunk-based development - frequent small commits, short-lived branches, feature flags; participate in code reviews and sprint ceremonies.
  • Package services with Docker; support deployment of containerized workloads to AWS (ECS/EKS or equivalent) within existing patterns.
  • Apply working knowledge of AWS services for app hosting (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC); collaborate on environment config and secrets management.
  • Investigate/resolve defects, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities; reduce technical debt; monitor logs (CloudWatch) and respond to operational issues.
  • Write/maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests (pytest; Jest/React Testing Library); ensure test coverage before merge; support UAT.

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the core stack: Python, FastAPI, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
  • Sufficient familiarity with AWS cloud services to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications in cloud-hosted environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline concepts and IaC tooling (e.g., Terraform, GitHub Actions) is desired but not a primary responsibility; must write code that integrates cleanly into existing automated pipelines.

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or IT related.
