What is a stable cleaner?

Stable cleaners are workers responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of horse stables. Their duties typically include mucking out stalls, replenishing bedding, cleaning feeding and watering equipment, and ensuring that the environment remains safe and healthy for the animals. Stable cleaners play a vital role in preventing disease and promoting the well-being of horses by keeping their living spaces clean. This job often requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a love for working with animals. Depending on the facility, stable cleaners may also assist with basic animal care tasks.

What does a stable cleaner do?

A typical day for a Stable Cleaner involves early starts to ensure all animal stalls are cleaned and bedded before other activities begin. Tasks include removing soiled bedding, replenishing fresh straw or shavings, cleaning water and feed buckets, and maintaining general stable hygiene.
