Job description

As a Class A Driver for St. Louis Composting, you will become an integral part in our process of creating rich compost.
What You'll Do:
  • Transport materials to various local site locations, retail outlets, and customer addresses. Unloading/loading materials to ensure safety and quality standards are followed.
  • Ensure safe and timely delivery, following dispatch instructions meticulously.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, promptly reporting any concerns or issues.
  • Operate tractor trailers, tandems, roll-offs, and/or dump trucks with precision and care.
  • Adhere to state and federal laws, as well as company policies and DOT regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Potential for occasional out-of-town work - always home on the weekends.

Important things to know:
  • Language Skills: Able to read and understand English.
  • CDL License: Possess a Class A CDL in good standing (all states except California) with a current DOT medical card.
  • Clean Driving Record: No DUIs, no major violations, and no more than a combo of 3 at-fault accidents or violations in the past 3 years.
  • Manual Transmission: Skilled in driving manual transmission trucks (some automatic transmission trucks available).
  • Safety Awareness: Prioritizes safety in all aspects of work.
  • Weekend Availability: Open to working Saturdays. Mostly available during the busy season mid-February to late June.
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/sitting for long periods.
