Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Associate Data Center Technician - Onsite for a contract position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Richardson, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As an Associate Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting failed hard drives and DIMMs, as well as installing new SSD and NVME drives into existing servers. This role requires employees to be physically present in the office on a full-time basis. You will be mentored by level 2 data center technicians and assist with various server maintenance tasks. This position requires basic server component experience and entry-level Linux troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities: Troubleshooting and resolution of failed hard drives and failed DIMMs within server nodes Installation of new SSD and NVME hard drives into existing servers Troubleshooting and resolution of console connectivity issues Troubleshooting and resolution of all power supply and RDU (power strip) related issues Troubleshooting and resolution of all tier 1 server hardware break fix issues Respond to all system problems on a 24x7 basis and take part in an on-call rotation Assisting Data Center Technicians in OS level and network troubleshooting Process (identify, tag, and prepare) all server nodes ready for decommissioning and prepare them for a third-party ITAM vendor to pick up Ensure our client's data center house rules are being followed and immediately report any concerns to leadership Ensure data center cleanliness and report any issues to leadership Requirements: 2+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role 2+ years of Linux troubleshooting experience 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting experience Desired skills: Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting Familiarity with server hardware components and troubleshooting A+ plus certification Communication Problem-solving Attention to detail Pay range: $22.00 - $30.80 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
