Job description

Responsibilities
  • Generate and monitor detailed test resource, training, and staffing requirements
  • Serve as the program’s point of contact for all test‑related activities and issues
  • Support Program Team in procurement of subcontractors and material for the test effort (e.g., test facilities, instrumentation hardware, etc.)
  • Lead and manage complex and high‑stakes testing projects
  • Develop and execute sophisticated test plans and procedures for advanced systems
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior test engineers
  • Perform high‑level data analysis and generate detailed reports for senior management
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment on test strategies and requirements
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate test and safety related risks
Qualifications – You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in test engineering or a related role
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
  • Expert understanding of test and evaluation principles and methodologies
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary design and development teams
  • Advanced knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical troubleshooting techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous leadership roles within a testing environment
  • Direct usage of various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies to include manual and automated testing
  • Experience authoring complex and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports in order to demonstrate compliance to system requirements
  • Familiarity with Product and Quality Assurance principles and experience in generation and disposition of product non‑conformances
  • Experience performing certification testing for various certification organizations (e.g., FAA, NASA, DoD)
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience conducting testing per MIL‑STD‑810, DO‑160, or other similar industry methods and standards
  • Knowledge of safety risk management, risk mitigations, and industry standards
  • Experience with the sequence of test events accounts for safety risk management, including identifying potential risks and implementing mitigations, to conduct tests safely and effectively
Essential Functions
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Ability to work in an office, lab, hangar, or offsite environment
Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 – $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position. SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Security Clearance

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non‑U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
