About the role

We're looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our College Program. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to build strong foundations in software engineering, data systems, and applied AI while contributing to real client and internal projects. 

As an Associate Software Engineer, you'll begin your journey with a structured training program that helps you develop core technical skills and engineering best practices. During and after the training period, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on client-facing or internal projects, applying what you've learned to deliver reliable, scalable software solutions. 

What You'll Do 

  • Kick-start your career through Xtillion's Software Engineering Academy, focused on software engineering fundamentals, data systems, and applied AI
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business problems and technical requirements 
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of software applications and data workflows 
  • Engage across the software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing and deployment 
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established engineering standards and best practices 
  • Test, debug, and help improve the reliability and performance of applications and services 
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues in collaboration 
  • Document system designs, code, and processes to support maintainability and knowledge sharing 
  • Staying up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments to continuously improve skills and knowledge

What We're Looking For 

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation in December 2025 or May/June 2026 
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++) 
  • Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms 
  • Familiarity with SQL, databases, or data-intensive systems 
  • Experience working with Git or other version control systems 
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team 
  • A proactive, positive attitude with strong organizational and problem-solving skills 
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior internship, research, or hands-on project experience in software engineering 
  • Exposure to backend development frameworks or API development through coursework or projects 
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) through academic, personal, or internship projects
