Job description

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant Analyst provides high-level analysis and performs complex accounting tasks to ensure compliance with standards. The position is responsible to identify, analyze, and monitor issues that affect profitability and growth to business and writing internal accounting memo's to support/guide the company's adherence to standards as it relates to changes in facts/circumstances or new accounting pronouncements. The Senior Accountant Analyst recommends, designs, implements controls based on policies, and provides the review and analysis on a variety of areas as assigned. The position interfaces with departments, senior management, third party administrators, and external auditors in order to provide accounting services and/or direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes trends for operating results (including inventory management) incurred to predict future trends and shortfalls using data platform and dashboards like Tableau
  • Analyzes variances to identifying the root cause of the reported results as well as working with business owners to propose and implement solutions
  • Develops, maintains and distributes periodic/ad-hoc reports, tools, and financial models that are utilized by various business units to validate data integrity as well as identifies trends, potential opportunities, and areas of risk
  • Conducts workflow analysis and makes recommendations on existing platform for business processes, systems, resource utilization, streamline business processes, identify control enhancements and data along with the appropriate narratives
  • Acts as liaison to various business units, providing support to management to aid in understanding financial results
  • Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures per general accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Reviews accounting schedules/reconciliations, responsible for complex accounting areas and resolves discrepancies and irregularities for reporting
  • Assist with both internal and external financial audits
