Job description

Hiring: Senior Project Engineer
Location: North Chicago, IL (100% Onsite)
Duration: 1–2 Years Contract
Type: W2 Contract
Industry: Pharmaceutical / Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
We are currently hiring for the position of Senior Project Engineer with a leading pharmaceutical client supporting API Pilot Plant and R&D capital projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead small to mid-size capital projects (up to $5M)
  • Develop P&IDs and process equipment specifications
  • Manage installation of process/laboratory equipment and facility upgrades
  • Oversee project scope, budget, schedule, procurement, and execution
  • Support commissioning, qualification, GMP compliance, and validation activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of Project/Process Engineering experience
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharma, or specialty chemical manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of P&IDs, process equipment (tanks, reactors, pumps, piping, instrumentation)
  • Experience managing capital projects and working in GMP-regulated environments
  • Familiarity with commissioning, qualification, and validation processes
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
