Internship Overview   

Springs Window Fashions is looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to join our Operations Team! The Packaging Engineering Internship provides an exciting opportunity to assist the team with project support while providing valuable work experience related to your chosen field of study. Our paid internship program is known for having in-depth, challenging project work with cross-functional teams, as well as professional development, job shadowing and other growth opportunities.

Internship Projects and Responsibilities   

  • Support Product Line Launches & Maintenance
    • Creating models and prototypes to specifications determined by Packaging Engineering
    • Performing packaging tests validate the package designs. Tests could include: Standardized distribution test and material performance tests
    • Creating Packaging Assembly Specifications and packaging components specifications for any new design change
    • Assisting with quality projects that relate to packaging and are not known at this time
    • Assisting with any plant initiated project that relate to packaging and are not known at this time
  • Packaging Sustainability Research
    • Research our current packaging materials for recycled content in the materials and the ability to recycle after use
    • Research potential alternatives for materials that are not sustainable
    • Perform preliminary testing of the alternate materials
  • Packaging Data Logger Study
    • Gather data about the hazards (shock, drop, vibration, temperature, humidity) each product line experiences
    • Analyze the outputs of our current lab testing capabilities
    • Perform ship tests for quality related issues as needed
  • Support Cost Savings/Value Creation Initiatives
    • Evaluate materials for equivalence
    • Creating test plans
    • Performing packaging tests to validate equivalence. This could include standardized distribution and material performance tests
    • Writing test reports
    • Updating/creating part specifications
