Job description

Seeking a full time Senior Histotech to join a great team in Virginia! This is a 1st shift position and located about 100 miles to the SW of Washington DC.

As a Sr. Lab Histologist, duties are to perform histology functions, including accessioning, microtomy, embedding, and slide preparations, utilizing scientific knowledge of histology principles and following standard operating procedures. Maintains technical policies and procedures; operates and maintains equipment, instruments, tools, and inventory. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility. Assists Manager with daily operations, coordination of work, achievement of departmental goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements. Maintains specialized expertise within assigned area. Routinely assumes charge of department in prioritizing workload and
resolving problems in absence of Manager.

Education
  • Associates Degree (required)

Certification/Licensure
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification

Experience
  • 2 years of histology experience (required)

  • IHC (preferred)
