Applied Physical Sciences Corp (APS) is seeking an entry level Associate Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering group at our Pawcatuck, CT location. APS works on exciting, challenging technologies that will expose candidates to a wide variety of multidisciplinary fields and allow for unique growth opportunities and learning experiences. This position will be responsible for supporting senior engineers and project leaders with a variety of engineering tasks from design and development to assembly and testing of complex electromechanical systems. It will give applicants exposure to all parts of the R&D process, from first-principle analysis through to prototyping and testing of integrated systems. A successful applicant will possess good technical, problem solving, and communication skills.
APS works on exciting, technically challenging, research & development programs where multidisciplinary teams work closely to address difficult national security needs. This position will allow applicants to collaborate with subject matter experts and make meaningful contributions to project teams and their objectives. At APS you will work in a small company-like environment where technical excellence and work ethics are rewarded, and an entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged. Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Design, analysis, and engineering of advanced prototype systems
- Fabrication, assembly and laboratory testing of systems at our Pawcatuck Facility
- Travel opportunities to support test equipment in the field
- BS in Mechanical Engineering Degree
- Experience with 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks)
- Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
