Senior Integration Engineer - Workday About the Opportunity Job Summary

The Senior Integrations Engineer is responsible for the technical development, maintenance, and support of inbound and outbound integrations supporting Workday HCM, Finance, Payroll, and related enterprise systems. This role focuses on hands‑on configuration, coding, testing, and troubleshooting of interfaces while ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture, data governance, and security standards. The Senior Integrations Engineer works closely with functional analysts, technical leads, and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure data exchanges across institutional systems.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities 1. Advanced Integration Development
  • Develop complex Workday inbound and outbound integrations using Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs, and middleware tools
  • Analyze and optimize integration performance, troubleshoot complex errors, and implement enhancements to improve reliability and scalability
  • Perform unit and integration testing
2. Integration Optimization & Performance
  • Provide break/fix support and troubleshoot production issues
  • Perform regression testing and monitor integration performance
3. Technical Leadership & Solution Design
  • Provide technical guidance on integration architecture, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with architects on enterprise integration strategies
  • Translate functional and technical specifications into integration solutions
  • Maintain technical documentation, data mappings, and interface specifications
4. Integration Operations & Support
  • Ensure integrations adhere to data quality, security, and privacy standards
  • Support audits and validation processes
  • Support monitoring, incident resolution, and regression testing
  • Lead resolution of high‑severity production issues and deployment activities
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work with functional analysts, architects, and vendors to enhance integrations, optimize performance, and support system releases
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, enforce integration standards, and ensure compliance with data governance and security policies
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area required; six to eight years of related experience developing and supporting system integrations required
  • Experience with Workday integrations preferred
  • Familiarity with data mapping and transformation logic
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to translate technical specifications into working integrations
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy principles
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Required Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise InterfaceBuilder), and Core Connectors
  • Strong understanding of the Workday data model and business processes
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, REST/SOAP web services, and SFTP
  • Knowledge of database concepts and SQL querying
  • Understanding of HR and payroll business processes
  • Understanding of integration monitoring and error handling processes
  • Scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
  • Version control systems (Git)
  • Middleware platforms and integration monitoring tools
