Job Title: Technical Calibration Specialist (Systems & Instrumentation)
Role Overview
We are seeking a mechanically inclined and detail-oriented Technical Calibration Specialist to join our instrumentation team. This is a dynamic role that blends hands-on field calibration with critical administrative and vendor management responsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of essential laboratory and industrial equipment, working across sterile cleanrooms and utility environments. This position offers a significant growth trajectory for a motivated individual looking to deepen their expertise in metrology and regulated equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Precision Calibration: Perform hands-on field calibrations for pipettes and a wide range of laboratory and utility instrumentation. Support senior technicians in complex equipment validations and adjustments.
• Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Serve as a key point of contact for third-party calibration vendors. Coordinate equipment shipping, track service schedules, and manage the return of certified instrumentation.
• Inventory & Asset Tracking: Maintain a rigorous inventory of all third-party calibrated assets across multiple departments, ensuring all equipment is up to date and audit-ready.
• Operational Support: Oversee the stocking and procurement of essential consumables and gases required for daily calibration activities.
• Environmental Compliance: Conduct work within strictly controlled environments, including Cleanrooms and GMP-regulated labs, adhering to all safety and gowning protocols.
• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively collaborate with onsite lab staff and offsite technical vendors to minimize equipment downtime and ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Experience: * Proven mechanical aptitude and a "hands-on" approach to troubleshooting.
• Experience in a GMP, Biotech, or highly regulated industrial equipment environment is a significant plus.
• Technical Skills: * Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel for data tracking.
• Ability to quickly learn and master specialized Calibration Management Software.
• Physical Requirements: Willingness to perform field work in various settings, including utility plants and sterile laboratory environments.
