Sr Inspector information

What is a Sr inspector?

Sr Inspectors, or Senior Inspectors, are experienced professionals responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, or codes within a specific industry. They often conduct inspections, audits, or assessments to verify that operations, products, or services meet required quality and safety standards. Sr Inspectors may also mentor junior inspectors, document findings, provide recommendations for corrective actions, and communicate results to management or regulatory bodies. Their expertise is critical in preventing issues and maintaining high standards within their field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Sr inspector, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sr Inspector, you need expertise in quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and a thorough understanding of industry regulations, often supported by relevant certifications or technical diplomas. Familiarity with inspection tools, measurement devices, and software systems like CAD or QA databases is commonly required. Attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and effective communication skills help Sr Inspectors resolve issues and ensure compliance. These competencies are vital for maintaining product quality, safety standards, and operational efficiency in manufacturing or construction environments.

What are some common challenges Sr inspectors face when balancing quality standards with production deadlines?

Sr Inspectors often need to ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards while also supporting production teams in meeting tight schedules. This can require effective prioritization, strong communication with both management and floor staff, and the ability to diplomatically address issues without disrupting workflow. Building collaborative relationships and proactively identifying potential bottlenecks can help Sr Inspectors maintain high standards without causing unnecessary delays.

PLC Programmer & Designer, Rosemont ON

Industrial Automation | Controls Design & Programming

Seeking a hands-on PLC Programmer & Designer to join a growing integration team that builds custom assembly, inspection, and welding systems for automotive, medical, and food manufacturers.

This role is focused on the electrical design and programming of PLC control panels, HMIs, and electromechanical tooling. You will own systems from schematic through programming, testing, and commissioning, working alongside electricians and project managers to bring automated cells to life.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to take full ownership of the electrical design and programming of an automated cell, and grow with a company that offers consistent future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

•   Complete electrical design, detailing, and full controls drawing packages, including bill of materials

•   Produce detailed CAD designs using AutoCAD Electrical

•   Participate in design reviews and controls meetings, providing input on electrical requirements

•   Develop PLC and HMI programs and all on-site process controls

•   Check and test equipment functions, including powered movement of components

•   Diagnose and troubleshoot systems to correct issues in a timely manner

•   Handle the full electrical design and programming of an automated cell

•   Complete work orders to client and company specifications and review with the project manager

•   Provide on-site and remote support for installed systems

Qualifications

•   8+ years in industrial automation and controls

•   5+ years in electrical design

•   Experience programming Allen-Bradley, Omron, Schneider, and Mitsubishi PLCs

•   Experience working on automation and robotics cells

•   G2/G class driver's license

Technical Requirements

•   PLC platforms: Allen-Bradley, Omron, Schneider, Mitsubishi

•   Robotics: ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa/Motoman an asset

•   Motion control applications

•   Industrial networks: Ethernet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, Profibus

•   Electrical design with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN

•   HMI development and system manual descriptions

•   Pneumatic safety control

•   Sourcing controls components and supporting purchasing decisions

Compensation

$45 to $55/hour, commensurate with experience, plus overtime opportunities.

PLC Programmer & Designer

This is a strong opportunity for a controls professional who wants full ownership rather than a narrow slice of the work. You take an automated cell from electrical schematic through PLC and HMI programming, testing, and commissioning, so you see your designs run on the floor start to finish. The company builds custom assembly, inspection, and welding systems across automotive, medical, and food manufacturing, so the projects stay varied and technically interesting. It's a tight-knit, hands-on team with competitive hourly pay, overtime, and real room to grow with a company that keeps a steady pipeline of future work.

If your experience aligns strongly with what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply. This team is growing, so we also welcome interest from both intermediate to senior applicants (Lead/Manager). Open to hearing compensation expectations.

Our immediate outreach will be focused on those whose experience most closely matches the current needs of the role.
