Job description

A Senior Financial Strategist is a seasoned professional who specializes in developing and implementing financial plans, strategies, and recommendations for individuals or organizations. The Senior Financial Strategist will analyze financial data, market trends, and economic indicators to provide expert advice on investment opportunities, risk management, and financial goal achievement. Additionally, they may oversee financial planning teams, conduct financial research, and collaborate with clients to tailor financial strategies to meet their specific needs and objectives.


• Work closely with families of significant wealth and complexity to analyze and coordinate an array of investments and structures.
• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies responsive to clients' needs and goals.
• Conduct detailed financial modeling to forecast future financial scenarios and outcomes on matters including, but not limited to, tax, public and private investments, philanthropic giving, and estate planning.
• Provide expert advice on estate planning, including wills, trusts, legacy and inheritance strategies by actively listening and developing a deep understanding of clients’ motivations and needs.
• Offer guidance on tax planning and optimization to minimize clients' tax liabilities and structure of assets for estate planning.
• Work closely with 1919’s financial professionals as well as outside professionals to deliver integrated services to our clients.
• Analyze investment opportunities and recommend strategies to enhance clients' portfolios.
• Collaborate and build meaningful relationships with clients to understand their financial objectives and estate planning goals.
• Monitor and review clients' financial plans regularly to ensure they remain aligned with their goals.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to provide timely, informed advice.


• Extensive experience in financial planning, estate planning, and tax matters.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate investment opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.


• Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business, or related field.
• Minimum Required: 5+ years of related experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families.
• Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, JD, MS in Finance, etc.).


• Minimum Required: Series 65 license (or waiver).
• Preferred: Relevant industry designation, CPA preferred, CFP, and/or CFA.


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficient in use of CRM system (i.e., Salesforce).
• Strong knowledge of current financial planning software and tools and proficiency in their use. Prefer candidates with experience with Addepar, BlackRock, or similar financial software used in a family office setting.
