Who You Are
In this role as our Senior Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, debugging, and delivering electrical controls hardware and software solutions for customers of the Automated Systems Group (ASG). You are also expected to function as a leader and integral part of an engineering execution team for electrical and controls components on projects.

You must demonstrate yourself as a customer-focused, problem-solver with a "service first" mindset who has experience with FANUC technology.

How It's Done

  • Create controls specifications defining the scope of controls and I/O requirements
  • Design and debug PLC programs using Siemens and Rockwell controls applications
  • Support quoting efforts as required, including estimating controls hardware and software costs
  • Review customer technical specifications to verify proposed solutions are in compliance
  • Review and assist wit the electrical design process
  • Support integration at FAC, verify hardware/software install, debug PLC and peripherals
  • Support field installation, startup, and debug of systems
  • Provide customer training sessions and develop operator manuals
  • Supervise/mentor other Controls Engineers
  • Travel to customer sites (~30%)

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent, relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing PLCs using Rockwell or Siemens applications, PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley, HMI programming, and designing electrical prints
  • Proven experience with other controls applications and architecture such as ENET/IP, ProfiNet, ProfiBus, and ProfiSafe
  • Prior experience serving as the Lead Engineer on an engineering team

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Customer-focused with strong communication and presentation skills including ability to present comprehensive technical evaluations/recommendations
  • Ability to analyze customer issues and find resolutions quickly
  • AutoCAD proficiency (i.e. E-Plan)
