Job Title- Sybase Developer

Location- NYC, NY

Contract/Full Time

Job Description:-

Experience working as a Sybase Database Developer on ASE and or MS SQL

Must have ETL Informatica PowerCenter development experience or other ETL tools such as data stage, Ab Initio, etc.

Experience creating Database objects (Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, Triggers etc)

Experience with Sybase Transact SQL programming and proficient in the following areas:

o Stored Procedures, Cursors, Triggers, Transactions, Batch programming

o Experience with performance tuning of stored procedures /triggers

o Very good understanding of Query plans.

o Should be able to fine tune queries.

o Solid experience with Sybase/SQL Server Client utilities such as isql, bcp, etc.

Unix Shell scripting and experience scheduling tools such as control-m, autosys, etc

Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling techniques

Nice to have:

Database design concepts for OLTP as well as DW applications.

Experience with business intelligence tools is a plus

Non-Technical Requirements

In-depth understanding and prior work experience in finance industry is a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders

Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources

Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance
