Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing Oracle and SQL Server database design and tuning
  • Data modeling and design
  • SQL tuning and monitoring to ensure system performance
  • Schema creation and management
  • Define capacity and growth requirements
  • Participate as part of a global functional DBA team.
  • Using change management ย processes to prevent production disruptions and outages
  • Researching and recommending solutions ย that best meet business needs and Enterprise operational requirements
  • Assisting in evaluating new technology to meet business needs.

Basic Requirements:

  • Five or more years of direct DBA experience
  • Seven or more years of direct IT ย experience providing database support or application programming
  • Ability and willingness to performย  tasks outside normal business hours and on weekends
  • Self-directed and self-motivated to solve problems quickly and creatively
  • Ability to work effectively with teamsย  and functional leadership across time zones and geography
  • Ability to work effectively in a teamย  environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous ย ย ย ย  improvement
  • Practical experience in monitoring and ย  tuning a database to provide a highly available service
  • Experience in the design and management ย of database schemas.
  • Experience with SQL tuning and performance analysis

Preferred Requirements:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related major
  • Excellent oral and writtenย  communication skills
  • Expert diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem solving for Oracle and SQL Server
  • Applications support experience
  • Proficiency with database designย  methodologies.
  • Experience with data warehousing design and development tools and architecture.
