Description:

URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a Business Intelligence Lead to be the senior hands-on technical leader for URM’s reporting and analytics solutions. This role leads complex BI development, SAP BusinessObjects support, DB2 data warehouse reporting, semantic modeling, dashboard architecture, report modernization, and BI best practices. The role mentors’ BI developers and partners with business stakeholders to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, performant, secure, well documented, and built for reuse across the enterprise.


Technical Leadership:

  • Lead design and development of complex BI dashboards, reports, universes, datasets, semantic models, and analytical products.
  • Establish and enforce BI standards for modeling, naming, calculations, visualization, documentation, testing, and deployment.
  • Review BI solutions for accuracy, performance, maintainability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex SAP BusinessObjects, DB2, SQL, data validation, performance, and user adoption issues.

Business Partnership:

  • Work directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements, define metrics, confirm calculations, and validate BI solutions.
  • Translate reporting needs into technical designs, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery tasks.
  • Identify duplicate, outdated, unsupported, or inconsistent reporting assets and recommend improvements.

Data Stewardship and Enablement:

  • Validate data quality, metric calculations, filtering logic, drill paths, and user-facing definitions before production release.
  • Partner with data engineering and integration teams to resolve upstream data issues affecting analytics outputs.
  • Create reusable templates, documentation, and patterns using Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and Prefect where applicable.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in BI development, analytics engineering, reporting, or related data delivery roles.
  • Advanced experience developing reports and analytics using SAP BusinessObjects, Universes, Web Intelligence, DB2 data warehouse sources, SQL, and related BI tools.
  • Strong SQL, data modeling, semantic modeling, dimensional modeling, and dashboard design skills.
  • Experience building reporting solutions for operational users, business leaders, and executives.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business and technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and quality assurance skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Prefect, or comparable cloud data platform tools.
  • Experience with Power BI and modern semantic model design.
  • Experience with retail, distribution, finance, merchandising, operations, or supply chain analytics.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or acting as a technical lead.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools in a business analytics environment.
