Location: Des Moines, IA – Onsite
Employment Type: Contract – W2
Duration: Through December 2026 + Extensions
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong expertise in data engineering and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Azure and will be responsible for developing scalable data solutions, building data pipelines, and working with large datasets in a cloud environment.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong hands-on development experience with Python

  • Experience with PySpark for large-scale data processing and transformation

  • Strong working knowledge of Snowflake, including data modeling, querying, and performance optimization

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark-based data processing

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure-based data services

  • Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines

  • Strong SQL and data-processing skills

  • Experience working with large-scale and complex datasets

  • Ability to troubleshoot data, performance, and integration issues

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric

  • Familiarity with modern cloud data architectures and data lake/lakehouse concepts

  • Experience with CI/CD and version-control practices for data engineering projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data applications using Python and PySpark

  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data processing

  • Build data solutions using Snowflake and Databricks

  • Develop and support cloud-based data solutions within Microsoft Azure

  • Perform data transformations, integrations, and performance optimization

  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business teams to understand requirements

  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure reliability and performance of data pipelines

  • Follow coding standards, documentation practices, and development best practices

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Strong hands-on experience in Python-based data engineering/development

  • Proven experience with Python, PySpark, Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Azure

  • Ability to work onsite in Des Moines, Iowa

  • Candidates must be able to work on a W2 contract
