We are looking for a Senior SQA Engineer to join our Software Quality Assurance team within our Software Engineering organization. Your job will be to test new and existing capabilities using a variety of testing methods ranging from manual to automated testing. You will be joining a global team of engineers who define and establish quality scalable engineering processes and test business critical tools. This role ensures the high quality delivery of business-critical products and solutions used for warehouse automation and logistics. What we do

The Software Quality Assurance team is part of the Software Engineering organization which is responsible for validating and ensuring the quality of the software that powers Symbotic's automation platform. The team works closely with Software Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, and other engineering organizations to test and validate software solutions that support warehouse automation and logistics.

What you'll do

  • Work within the SQA team to validate the quality of Symbotic software, which will be rolled out in our customer environments.

  • Work in a cross-functional collaborative environment with members of SQA, Software Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, and other organizations.

  • Have a strong desire to work within a distributed architecture, and associated data. This will be in a C#, C++, and multi-threaded / multi-processor environment.

  • Install, configure, and validate a complex software stack across multiple environments.

  • Collect and analyze customer functional requirements for creating Functional and Automation test strategies.

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end design and operations of the system, and create test strategy, test plans, and test cases for the system.

  • Execute manual and automated test cases.

  • Write new test cases for complex subsystems.

  • Write scripts, apps, and queries to help facilitate testing.

  • Plan testing activities for large subsystems or small releases.

  • Perform complicated development tasks to solve testing problems.

  • Submit, track, and verify defects through the software development lifecycle; prioritize and help triage defects.

  • Define, implement, and manage Quality Assurance standards and frameworks.

  • Evaluate new tools (defect tracking, documentation, automation, etc.).

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in SQA or relevant field.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry practices, including but not limited to: black, gray, and white box testing; directed testing; smoke testing; system testing; performance, stress, duration, and scalability testing; topology testing; failover/disaster recovery testing; automated testing; integration and unit testing; usability testing; acceptance testing; validation and verification; ad-hoc testing.

  • Experience working with hardware and/or hardware emulators is a plus.

  • Familiarity with SQL, XML, JSON, and C# are a plus.

  • Familiarity with microservice architecture and technologies like Kubernetes, Ansible, and Helm are a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support unscheduled events.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous issues and tasks.

  • Capability to work independently, take initiative with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $101,000.00 - $138,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
