Job description

About SpyGlass Pharma:
At SpyGlass Pharma (NASDAQ: SGP), we are focused on improving and preserving the vision of patients suffering from chronic eye conditions, while minimizing the impact on their daily lives. We aim to achieve this by developing cutting-edge long-term drug delivery products to address common causes of blindness and getting these products to the patients that need them.
We have built a highly collaborative team with deep expertise across ophthalmology, drug delivery, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Our scientists, engineers, and clinical leaders bring decades of experience developing and commercializing breakthrough technologies, united by a shared commitment to patients and our guiding principle: "We create for patients." That mindset shapes how we build our products, our teams, and our culture.
Backed by strong clinical progress, significant funding, and a growing organization, SpyGlass Pharma is entering an exciting stage of growth as we advance our lead program, the SpyGlass BIM-IOL, through Phase 3 clinical development.
Summary:
The Senior Manager, Talent & People Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for leading Talent Acquisition and overseeing key People programs that support employee engagement, development, and organizational success across SpyGlass Pharma. Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, this role serves as a trusted partner to leaders and employees, balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution to help build a high-performing and engaging workplace.
The successful candidate will own the full talent acquisition lifecycle, partnering closely with hiring managers to attract, hire, and onboard exceptional talent. In addition, this individual will lead initiatives across employee experience, development, manager support, and People Operations, building scalable programs and processes that enable business growth and strengthen company culture.
This is a highly visible player-coach role for someone who enjoys building processes, influencing leaders, solving complex people challenges, and rolling up their sleeves to get things done. The position offers the opportunity to significantly shape how SpyGlass attracts talent, develops employees, and scales its people practices during an exciting period of growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
  • In partnership with the VP of HR, support workforce planning and organizational design aligned to business growth and evolving capability needs.
  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition execution, including sourcing strategy, structured selection, and employer branding to attract high-caliber, diverse talent.
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for critical roles while optimizing external partnerships and strengthening internal recruiting capabilities.
  • Establish and track recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality of hire) to improve effectiveness and inform decision-making.
  • Ensure a high-quality, inclusive candidate experience and compliant hiring practices.
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver a seamless onboarding experience that accelerates integration and productivity.

Culture & Employee Experience
  • Partner with the VP of HR and business leaders to assess organizational health and implement programs that strengthen engagement, performance, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee development, performance management, career growth, team effectiveness, and employee relations.
  • Lead the execution and continuous improvement of core People programs and processes to enhance scalability and employee experience.
  • Lead employee listening strategies, including engagement surveys, pulse checks, focus groups, and action planning, using insights to drive meaningful improvements.
  • Develop and oversee employee recognition, engagement, culture-building, and health & wellness programs that reinforce company values, foster connection, and support overall employee experience.
  • Support the design and delivery of employee development, manager training, and leadership development initiatives to build organizational capability.
  • Track and analyze workforce and engagement metrics, providing insights to inform People strategy and business decisions.

People Operations & HR Technology
  • Review and improve People programs, processes, and workflows using a systems-thinking approach to enhance scalability, efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Oversee HRIS, people analytics, and automation tools to enable accurate and timely data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure strong HR governance, data integrity, and compliance across all People systems and processes.
  • Develop and maintain workforce dashboards and reporting to provide leaders with actionable insights on key people metrics and trends.

Qualifications Required for Position:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • ~10 years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or senior individual contributor capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience across Talent Acquisition and broader People Operations or HR generalist functions.
  • Experience building or scaling HR infrastructure, processes, or programs in high-growth and/or regulated environments (biopharma preferred).
  • Strong systems thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to use data and insights to inform decisions and improve People programs.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence leaders across all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable operating in both strategic and hands-on executional capacities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and change management skills.

Why SpyGlass Pharma?

  • Share in our success with stock options, giving you a stake in the company's future.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans to keep you and your family healthy and happy, with a variety of plan and coverage options.
