Job description

Position Overview:
The EHS CO-OP will provide support to SPX FLOW's Environmental Health & Safety team. This position will offer hands-on experience with a variety of EHS tasks, including program development, safety observations, risk assessments, and compliance activities. The CO-OP will work closely with the EHS and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure workplace safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Safety Program Support:
    • Assist in the development, review, and update of EHS programs.
    • Ensure that safety protocols align with OSHA, EPA, and SPX FLOW standards.
  2. Risk Assessment & Audits:
    • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and workplace safety audits.
    • Assist in identifying and mitigating safety risks at various workstations and operations.
  3. Safety Observations:
    • Support the management of the safety observation system.
    • Track, document, and follow up on corrective actions for reported safety issues.
  4. Training & Education:
    • Participate in EHS-related training initiatives for employees.
    • Assist in developing and delivering safety-related training materials and presentations.
  5. Incident Reporting & Investigation:
    • Assist in the reporting and investigation of workplace incidents.
    • Help gather data, prepare incident reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
  6. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Aid in maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in the preparation of regulatory submissions, permits, and reports.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities within EHS operations.
    • Participate in Kaizen or other continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program focused on Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of EHS principles and regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:
