How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a General Labor team member, you will play an important role in building high-quality industrial fans and blowers that support customers around the world.
You will perform a variety of production tasks-including assembly, material handling, paint line support, packaging, and machine operation-while working safely, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new skills, and being part of a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
Safety
  • Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business
  • Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition
  • Ensure proper and effective operation of machine and tools throughout entire process. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor

Quality
  • Confirm material, sizes, and parts match work order/job tickets
  • Ensure all parts and surfaces are free from defects
  • Able to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to lead or supervisor unusual, defective, or operating difficulties
  • Complete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelines
  • Accurately document work performed using company required documents and procedures

Delivery
  • Load and unload materials, components, and finished goods from production equipment.
  • Hang and unhang moving parts from paint line.
  • Assemble products according to work instructions and engineering specifications.
  • Package and prepare finished products for shipment per customer requirements/work order.
  • Perform assigned production tasks while meeting established safety, quality, and productivity standards.

  • Punctual, on time, ready to work designated shift, every day

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Required Experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive work throughout the shift
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, construction, fabrication, or industrial experience
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment
  • Experience using computerized manufacturing or production tracking systems
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience using hand and power tools

Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
