Job description

TEC Equipment features Mack and Volvo heavy-duty trucks, Hino and Isuzu medium duty trucks, Stoughton trailers and Cottrell auto transport trailers. We offer a large and desirable inventory of new Mack and Volvo heavy-duty trucks and all makes of used trucks. Our full-service line-up also features quality parts, state-of-the-art service, collision centers and fuel, leasing/rental, financing, and insurance. Our locations are authorized service centers for Mack, Volvo, Cummins, Meritor, Eaton and Fuller warranties. TEC truly offers the convenience of one-stop shopping for all trucking-related needs.


This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing semi-trailers.  We offer Technician support across the TEC network and training support from our Corporate Service team.


  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicle to proper operating condition, including performing FHWA/BIT inspections
  • Troubleshoot and perform complex wiring repairs and diagnose and repair any electronic issues
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance services. Identify worn and damaged parts all parts to include major components, repairing, adjusting, or replacing as needed
  • Maintain safe and organized work area
  • Ability to be on task to meet shop quality and efficiency standards and take ownership of assigned jobs to ensure quality repairs
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Must use all safety equipment necessary for the job
  • Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
  • Ability to remove and replace main structural components of a reefer or dry van semi-trailer, including but not limited to panel replacement, top rail, bottom rail, corner radius, nose rail, roof, rear doors.

  • Minimum 2-5 years working on trailers 
  • Must have own hand tools
  • High expertise in troubleshooting using diagnostic software 
  • Proficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision  
  • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert manner
  • Valid driver's license and able to meet insurance requirements. CDL license preferred but not required

The base pay range for this position is $21.68 to $27.10.
