Position Overview:
The Sprinkler Systems Design will be a key technical partner in the sprinkler sales, design, and installation process. They will review specifications and drawings, design code compliant sprinkler systems, develop accurate bills of material / stock lists, and Requests for Information (RFI). This person will build relationships with the sprinkler design and sales teams and be a key contact for technical questions and solutions during the bidding process. In addition to the traditional sales support and design duties this position will be the key developer and driver of sales support and design processes for the entire sprinkler operations team. This role will be primarily based in our Cincinnati office.
Responsibilities:
  • Design code-compliant sprinkler systems
  • Perform site surveys and customer consultations to develop and assist in the proposal of sprinkler alteration and installation solutions
  • Scope development and pre-bid planning
  • Coordination with other designers, the sales team and the install team during all phases of the project
  • Specification clarification
  • Site Visits when necessary. Participate in sales presentations
  • Attend sales meetings
  • Assist in the cost review of project proposals
  • Attend sales to design and design to operations turnover meetings
  • Support design functions in other branches
Qualifications:
  • 5 years’ experience in sprinkler design. Additional experience in sales support or project management preferred
  • NICET Level II in Water Based System Layout. Level III and State of Ohio Designer License preferred
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. (Various other computer programs will be used, but training will be provided)
  • Experience in reading drawings, specifications and fire codes with an attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
