Job description

We are looking for a dynamic, customer-focused leader to serve as a Branch Manager and oversee the daily operations of one of our retail banking locations. This role is responsible for leading branch staff, driving exceptional customer service, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting the bank's growth and community presence.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance and support of the Regional Operations Manager, provide leadership, direction, and guidance for all branch bank activity to ensure the short- and long-term profitability of the facility, along with community citizenship. Develops business by establishing and maintaining sound relationships with existing and potential customers. Effectively supervises branch staff. Ensures that sound banking practices are followed and that all regulations governing the branch banking functions are strictly observed. Expected to deliver customer service as outlined in our "customer pledge" and "customer service standards" and adhere to our "code of conduct".
General / Supervisory Responsibilities
• Effectively train, coach, and supervise inexperienced personnel in both teller and new account functions.
• Schedule teller and new accounts staff to maintain proper workflow and ensure adequate coverage during peak and non-peak periods.
• Maintain vault cash levels and oversee daily cash operations to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance.
• Manage monthly cash flow and prepare required cash reports.
• Conduct random teller audits and investigate discrepancies to ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Maintain strong internal controls and procedures at the teller and new accounts level.
• Provide input and recommendations regarding hiring, performance management, and staffing decisions.
• Develop, motivate, and effectively utilize staff to meet established growth, profitability, and performance objectives.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations; establish goals and standards, and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to branch personnel.
• Ensure all established security, operational, and compliance procedures are strictly followed.
• Plan, direct, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate all branch activities to minimize risk exposure and ensure achievement of short- and long-term goals.
• Maintain an ongoing, aggressive, and sound business development program to meet branch objectives.
• Represent the bank in key community activities, including business, charitable, civic, and social organizations, to promote a positive corporate image.
• Assist in developing and maintaining strong business relationships within the branch's local community.
• Participate in and support local community affairs and activities.
• Ensure maintenance and servicing of branch facilities, physical property, and equipment are completed as needed.
Teller Support Responsibilities
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all teller duties and provide guidance, assistance, and direction as necessary.
• Accept and process customer transactions, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, payments, and account servicing.
• Verify deposits, endorsements, signatures, and balances; issue receipts and make change accurately.
• Receive savings deposits and process withdrawals in accordance with bank policy.
• Accept and process credit card and loan payments, including credit card cash advances.
• Perform teller balancing functions, including drawer, ATM, and vault balancing.
• Process night depository and mail-in deposits.
• Sell and process money orders, cashier's checks, and other related services.
• Respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain proper cash levels in teller drawers and vault; secure cash at all times in accordance with safety and security procedures.
• Service ATMs according to established schedules and operational needs.
• Assist tellers in researching and resolving cash discrepancies as necessary.
• Handle special or unusual customer transactions and resolve complex customer issues.
• Monitor and maintain efficient teller workflow.
New Accounts Representative Responsibilities
• Clearly explain banking products and services and assist customers in selecting solutions that meet their financial needs.
• Open and process various types of new consumer and business accounts.
• Verify and process changes to existing accounts in accordance with bank policies.
• Process customer check orders and related account services.
• Prepare customer correspondence and complete all required onboarding documentation and processes.
• Assist customers with balancing checking accounts and understanding account statements.
• Provide assistance with stop payment requests and wire transfer processing.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of two (2) years of banking experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to perform all over-the-counter customer service functions accurately and efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise accuracy, alertness, sound judgment, courtesy, tact, patience, and professionalism when interacting with customers and staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
• Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to coach, train, and develop staff effectively.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality of all Bank records and customer transactions at all times.
• Must demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and ethical conduct.
