Job description

We're looking for a creative and highly organized Publicist to join our dynamic publicity team supporting two of the most exciting imprints in commercial romance publishing-Bloom Books and Casablanca, with the occasional Cosmo Reads title. You'll lead publicity campaigns that generate national attention, drive strong sales, and amplify some of the most buzzed-about authors and stories in the market today. In this role, you'll strategize and execute media campaigns, national tours, influencer outreach, and brand-building initiatives that grow author platforms and keep our books in the spotlight.
The position also allows for a hybrid work schedule at our Naperville, IL or New York, NY office if desired. 100% remotely from the following states: Illinois, Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. This role includes some travel, including occasional meetings at the home office in Naperville, IL.
This is an exempt, salaried position with an annual salary between $65,000 - $70,000. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate's qualifications.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead and manage publicity campaigns for new releases across Bloom Books and Casablanca
  • Pitch and secure national media placements, trade reviews, podcast features, and online coverage, along with other relevant promotional outlets
  • Develop strategic influencer campaigns that drive awareness and pre-pub buzz
  • Plan author tours, launch events, and conference appearances in collaboration with internal teams and booksellers
  • Partner with the sales and digital marketing teams to create high-impact brand campaigns
  • Create compelling press materials, Q&As, and media kits for each launch
  • Collaborate with authors on brand strategy, backlist visibility, and long-term publicity planning
  • Contribute to imprint-specific social media strategy and seasonal promotion planning

What You Bring:
  • At least 4years of publicity experience in publishing (required)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in publicity or communications
  • Proven ability to pitch and land national media
  • Deep knowledge of the media landscape, book influencers, and emerging promotional channels
  • A collaborative spirit, creative ideas, and strong project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, Google Workspace, and Canva
