Job Description

The Coordinator of Athletics Video and Creative Contentservesas the primary creative and multimedia content producer for Huskies Athletics. The individual willassistin managing the athletics brand, including the creation of content for video boards, digital marketing, digital media, and social media initiatives.He/she will alsobe responsible forthe recruitment,managementand scheduling of student staff for event coverage of video boards and web streaming productions.This position works collaboratively with St. Cloud State's Husky Productions to maximize television coverage and storylines for internal and external audiences. TheCoordinatorwill be a point of contact with St. Cloud State Sports Properties and corporate partners for collection,placementand management of digital assets.

  • Oversee the production of athletic multimedia content. Conceptualize, produce, shoot, and edit video content for Huskies Athletics web and scoreboard properties, including highlight, game day, and hype videos.Create journalistic, publicity, highlight and other featured multi-media content, including motion graphics for in-game scoreboard and web properties.Work withexternalteam to coordinate and produce all video content for promotional, branding, and sponsorship purposes.Assistwith communication to St. Cloud State Sports Properties (Learfield) and corporate partners for collection,placementand management of digital assets.

  • Serve asprimaryDepartment of Athletics liaison to the Executive Producer of Husky Productions to direct live on-air broadcasts in designated sports.Assistwith review, oversight, and execution of television and webcasting contracts.Assistwith efforts to improve production quality of video webcastsutilizingexisting and new technological infrastructures. Work with University Technology Services on video production equipment design, implementation, maintenance, andnew technology/upgrades.

  • Communicate and collaborate with a variety of St. Cloud State University athletics staff and coaches to develop new ways to promote the department and its 17 sport programs. Work with Athletics Media Relations to handle media, internal, and conference offices (NCHC, WCHA, NSIC) requests for content and footage. Coordinate athletics video archives asappropriate.

  • Oversee and schedule the streaming of all home athletics events. Recruit, manage and schedule student workers for event coverage for video board and web streaming productions - including payroll tracking.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities asassigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years ofexperienceinvideoand audio production(including pre andpost production).

  • Doctorate degree may substitute for two years of experience;Master'sdegree may substitute for18 monthsof experience;Bachelor'sdegree may substitute for one year of experience;Associate'sdegree may substitute for six months of experience

  • Knowledge of a variety of media specifications,formatsand requirements.

  • Strongproficiencyin non-linear video editing and graphic software including Adobe Creative Suite and video production/motion graphics softwareincluding, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Apple Motion. Familiarity with tapeless HD workflows. Extensive knowledge of video codecs and formats, along with knowledge of digital and DSLR camera equipment.

  • Operational knowledge of video switchers, audio mixers, nonlinear editors, routers, Mac and Window's OS,Replaysystems, scoreboard systems; ability to train student staff on use of such equipment.

  • Familiarity with live web video streaming protocols and knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.)

  • Experience directing and/or producing audio/visual for an in-house audience. Ability to set up and execute solo shoots in a studio and on location. Interview and on-camera experience and ability to manage media content.

  • Ability to work assigned hours with flexibility to workadditionalhours as needed for events and to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.

  • Previousexperience whichidentifiesyour work independently andmakedecisions in adeadline drivenenvironment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) involving multiple constituencies both internal and external to the University; commitment to strong customer service.

  • Demonstrated ability toestablisheffective goal-oriented relationships with student-athletes, coaches, staff, University colleagues, and community members.

  • Evidence of strongorganizationskills and the ability tomaintainmultiple ongoing projects at any given time.

  • Creativity and strong knowledge and passion for athletics.

This position requires significant weekend and evening assignments and must beon-callthroughout the year.
