The Athletic Performance Assistant is a sports science-focused position within an integrated performance and medical team responsible for the operation of sports science technology and facilitating performance data collection, entry and storage. This position will also assist with data analysis, visualization, and reporting, as well as, logistics related to the athletic performance program (e.g., strength & conditioning sessions, warm-ups, supplements, equipment, food, etc.) as required.
What You'll Do

  • Operation of sports science technologies to facilitate optimal data collection, entry and storage (e.g., player athletic profiling, tracking, and assessments, etc.), including education of staff regarding collection methods as required.
  • Ensure data accuracy and entry into organizational online data management systems.
  • Keep up-to-date records of all data collection methods.
  • Data cleaning, exploration, analysis, modeling, visualization and reporting, as required.
  • Assist with internal R&D projects and development as assigned
  • Weight room and cardio room cleanliness.
  • Assist the equipment manager with any tasks required.
  • Assist, based on background, with logistics related to the athletic performance program (e.g., strength & conditioning sessions, warm-ups, supplements, equipment, food, etc.) as assigned

Who You Are:
  • Experience working in a sport environment with a background working with athletes in a sports science/performance capacity
  • High level of competence with data management tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or alike
  • Must posses or be working towards an industry standard strength and conditioning and sports science certification (i.e.,NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-CPSS)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong operational ability with an attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic
  • Must be punctual and accountable daily
  • Must be trustworthy and have a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn from and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of medical, performance, equipment and basketball operations professionals
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk for long periods of time and to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must be available for a high volume of non-traditional work hours, weekend and holiday work, and 40+ hours/week and travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a high-performance, team sport environment with a background working with athletes in a sports science and/or performance capacity
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, C++ etc.)
