Job description

Construction Superintendent - Sports Construction

Location: Nationwide, USA
Salary: $95K + Performance Bonuses
Travel: Extensive Nationwide Travel

About the Opportunity

A growing national sports and golf construction company is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on sports construction projects throughout the United States.

Projects typically run 8-12 weeks and involve a variety of site development and construction activities, including concrete, earthwork, gravel, soil preparation, asphalt, grading, and leveling.

This is a very hands-on Superintendent role. Rather than simply managing subcontractors, you'll be directly involved in coordinating the work, crews, schedules, materials, quality, safety, and overall project execution.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands construction, enjoys being in the field, and is comfortable taking ownership of a project from mobilization through completion.

What You'll Do

  • Manage daily field operations on sports construction projects.
  • Supervise crews and subcontractors and coordinate all site activities.
  • Oversee concrete, earthwork, grading, asphalt, gravel, soil preparation, and leveling.
  • Coordinate schedules, inspections, quality control, and project sequencing.
  • Conduct site meetings and communicate project status with key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary field contact for clients, consultants, and project partners.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure required permits and inspections are completed.
  • Monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations.
  • Track project progress, materials, costs, and schedules.
  • Identify and resolve field issues quickly and effectively.
  • Work closely with project management to keep projects moving toward successful completion.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-4+ years of Superintendent or comparable construction field leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction and field operations.
  • Highly hands-on approach to construction management.
  • Experience with earthwork, concrete, grading, asphalt, or similar construction preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
  • Comfortable working on projects that typically last 8-12 weeks.

Golf or sports construction experience is not required. Candidates with strong construction backgrounds in concrete, earthwork, grading, landscaping, or golf course construction are encouraged to apply.

Golf course Superintendents looking to transition into sports construction may also be a strong fit.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $95K base salary
  • Additional flexibility for exceptional experience
  • Project-based performance bonuses
  • $2,200-$2,700/month per diem depending on lodging requirements
  • Company-provided truck
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with up to 3% company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Career development and advancement opportunities

Why Join This Team

This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from the field level and see your work come to life. You'll be part of a team-oriented organization where Superintendents have a significant role in how projects are executed and are trusted to make decisions in the field.

The company offers the variety of working on major sports projects across the country, while also providing opportunities to move between sports and golf construction or grow into more senior roles. For someone who enjoys travel, hands-on construction, and being part of a close-knit team, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career rather than simply take another Superintendent position.

Looking forward to your application!
