Job description

I’m partnering with a leading private equity firm focused on sports, media, and entertainment that is building out a dedicated GP Finance function in New York.

The firm operates at the intersection of private equity, sports, media, and entertainment, partnering with some of the most recognizable brands, athletes, and celebrities in the world, with relationships and investments involving names such as LeBron James, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

This is a unique opportunity for someone coming from a large, sophisticated private equity or alternative asset manager who wants to move into a broader, highly visible GP Finance role and help build out the function.

The role will have exposure to:

• GP and management company structures

• Carried interest and GP economics

• Employee and partner investment vehicles

• GP commitments and related allocations

• Management fees and expense allocations

• Personal leverage / employee financing programs

• Vesting schedules and partner economics

• Capital activity, distributions, and cash flows

• Complex entity structures, SPVs, and co-investments

• Financial reporting, forecasting, and liquidity analysis

• Partnership with Tax, Legal, Investor Relations, and senior leadership

• Building and improving processes as the GP Finance function scales

Ideal Background:

• 5–10 years of relevant experience

• Currently/recently working in-house at a large private equity or alternative investment manager

• Strong understanding of GP structures, carried interest, and private equity economics

• Hands-on ownership rather than simply reviewing work prepared by an administrator

• Broad experience across GP finance rather than a narrowly specialized background

• Comfortable operating in a complex, fast-paced institutional investment environment

• Big 4/public accounting foundation and CPA are a plus

Beyond the scope of the role, this is an opportunity to join a differentiated investment platform with significant exposure to the sports and entertainment ecosystem while helping build a GP Finance function that will continue to grow with the firm.
