Key Responsibilities
• Manage, direct and coordinate the sports programs for assigned sites.
• Hire, train, evaluate and supervise assigned staff and volunteers.
• Secures and schedules athletic fields or facilities and transports and sets up equipment for games and practices.
• Organizes and conduct parent orientation meetings and coaches training and meetings.
• Develops and distributes team practices, game schedules, sports rules and guidelines.
• Ensures that high quality programs are offered, program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
• Produce informational material and brochures in conjunction with branch marketing plans.
• Secure supplies and equipment for effective program operation.
• Provide for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with school district administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
• Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned
Skills and Abilities
• Must have skills in administration, marketing, staff supervision, member & volunteer development and fiscal management.
• Must have an excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in order to maintain harmonious relationships with staff members, volunteers, program participants and the general public.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be creative, motivated, self-starter with the ability to lead andmotivate others.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation Management or equivalent experience.
• One year or more experience in supervision and coordination of family involvement programs.
• Must possess current CPR, First Aid, Oxygen and AED certifications with in the first 60 days.

The incumbent must have the ability to transport equipment, materials and supplies to schools. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional use of keyboard; occasional sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending or squatting.
The incumbent is regularly required to work under pressure and or to work rapidly to meet deadlines, to reason and solve problems, make sound judgment and decisions and be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to evaluate and solve complex problems. Frequent decision-making and concentration; frequent public and/or coworker contact; occasional working alone. Hearing/Talking: frequent hearing and talking, in person and on the phone. Time is spent indoors and outdoors, depending upon the program needs. The condition of the air is normal/average air conditioned/ventilated. The noise level is normal to loud within an active YMCA program environment.
