To thrive as a Sports Cardiologist, you need an MD or DO degree, board certification in cardiology, and specialized training or fellowship in sports cardiology. Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as echocardiography, ECG interpretation, stress testing, and cardiac MRI is essential, as is proficiency with electronic medical records. Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills are crucial for working with athletes, coaches, and multidisciplinary medical teams.
